seo roundup smallHey Guys,

Welcome to (the later than usual) SEO Roundup.

We have some really good reading lined up for you this week including Google latest financial figures, getting rid of the malware warning on your SERPs, a review of Googles WMT blog last year, a great content recycling tip from SEOMoz, and a very well written document on the future of SEO.Unfortunately the good old English weather got the better of me and finally broke down my immune system so I wasn’t able to get SEO Roundup to you in the usual Tuesday slot but don’t worry, I am here now with the latest news.

———

The first site we have on show is a blog post form the mighty Search Engine Land and details the latest financial figures from Google. While these are not specifically related to affiliate marketing and SEO keeping your eye on these kind of figures is a good move as it makes it easier to see where Google will be going next. The summary is; Google is still going strong despite some share drops over the past year.

———-

Our second news post is from the official Google Webmaster Tools blog and is simply an overview of what the team did last year. If you have not been keeping up to date with WMT changes then now’s the time to catch up, there has been some really good additions to the system in the last 6-8 months including the 404 linked from function and manual crawl rate settings.

Both of these along with other changes inside webmaster tools can help you building links and maintain your site.

———

The third post is from SEOMoz and features an excellent idea surrounding content generation. Why start and SEO campaign from scratch when you can recycle an older, more powerful URL?

Almost all of us will have dull, odler pages on our website that maybe used to rank for something but with a few simple steps you could end up with a whole new set of rankings, best part of the idea is that your new page could be recycled in a years time.

This is definitely one of those SEO tricks affiliates can take advantage of.

———-

The fourth feature is 1 of the most important ones I’ve featured for a while. It’s a link for more in depth search engine marketers but I encourage all the affiliates out there to find time to read it.

The document is a PDF written by expert search marketer Mike Grehan and is about the future of Search Engine Marketing. It’s very accessible and covers a lot of basic ground at the start to ensure you understand the concepts laid out later in the document. I’m not going to give it the injustice of a 2 sentence summary so if you have the time sign up and give it a read (it’s free) if not I may consider writing a more comprehensive review some time next week if enough people want it.

———-

Finally this link is to an old Google Webmaster Blog post but I received an email on the subject and thought I would share it with everyone.

The post basically details how to remove the malware warning from your site listing in the SERPs in the event your site was hacked or you uploaded a dodgy script.

Its an easy to follow step by step post so keep it bookmarked just in case it ever happens to you!

———-

Have a great weekend everyone and good luck with all your SEO endevours!
